Grammar Police

There, their, they’re.  Learn it, live it.

Two, to, too.  Learn it, live it.

It’s sad that the vast majority of young people don’t understand which of those words in a given context.  I know english isn’t the easiest language to learn, but frankly if this is your first (and even moreso if it’s your only) language then you should know it.  I’m not saying that everyone needs to be a literary genius, but some basic grammar and spelling wouldn’t go astray.

Politics

Dear Premier Rees,

Your goverment has failed miserably.  The state of New South Wales is in complete disarray.  Basic levels of infrastructure are completely broken.  The healthcare system can’t afford basic painkillers.  You, and your predecessors, are doing nothing but waste my money and destroy everything good that has been built in this state since federation.  Please, fuck the hell off and let someone who knows what they’re doing run the state.

Kind Regards, Matthew Hatton, NSW Taxpayer.

It’s time for the state government to go.  Over the last 5 years, they have proven that there is absolutely no need for them to exist.  I struggle to understand how a government that does nothing but collect money left and right can run out of it.  The state’s education system is out of money, the healthcare system is out of money, police are constantly under-funded for the levels of service they’re asked to provide.  I firmly believe that the state government level should be abolished and the vast majority of their powers reverted to the federal government.

The benefits would be a universal education and healthcare systems and a massive reduction the costs of running these services as you’ve removed an entire level of beauocracy and red tape.  Not to mentioned the millions of dollars that will be saved by not having to pay 2000-odd polticians and their many thousands of support staff across the country.  This is saving is even more important when you consider the economic trouble the world is in.  Any extra money that can be injected into the economy instead of politicians pockets is important right at the moment.
